The purpose of this book is to help others. Many years ago, about the age of 32, I received a word from God. He told me that all of the pain, hurts, challenges that I have survived and continue to grow from, would one day be used to help other women. This word was hidden in my heart for many years as I continued to grow, be molded and endure new challenges in my life.
Let me start by saying that everyone has a story to tell. I am not special because I have survived all that I have. I am not special because many women have survived similar challenges. I am not special because I am writing this book. I was called by my Lord to do this and am choosing to heed that call. All of our callings and ministries are chosen individually for us. We just have to obey them. When we don’t obey them, we bring new challenges into our lives. It certainly is not easy to obey God and His will for us at times, but when we do the paths are definitely smoother.
We are never done and never perfect; always a work in progress. I must say that even now, it is painful to revisit the past and to continue to contemplate on it. While I am fully aware that it makes me who I am today – compassionate, understanding of pain, merciful and forgiving, loving, accepting of differences, and leaning on God more and more – it still can be painful. I have grown so much over the years, that I now realize that EVERY challenge, pain, rejection, loss, abuse, and my low self-esteem have given me a story to tell to help others. God blesses us in our “mess”, and we also learn to lean on Him much more when things are going rough for us. After all, there is not a “TESTIMONY” without a “TEST”.
This book was 14 years in the making and it is very emotional for me to finally have it published. My goal is to get it into as many hands and hearts as possible. There will be a paperback, e-book, audio book and very soon, podcasts.
